Second Chance Hardwoods (SCH) owns a large sawmill operation bordering the PA/MD/DE state lines. SCH has a vast inventory of figured black Walnut, Maple (ambrosia, birds eye, spalted), Sycamore QS, Oak QS (red, white and black), figured Ash, figured Cherry, figured Beech, Elm, Poplar, Cypress, and many other species of fine hardwoods for sale. SCH designed and built this massive band saw mill over 18 years ago, with the capability of producing up to 55″ wide & 27′ long planks from wide logs. SCH offers air-dried hardwoods for sale in 3 large pole barns, as well as custom sawmilling of slabs and lumber from logs to any specification for our customers. SCH also offers bowl blanks for the wood turners out there.

    I have a recently felled tulip poplar, very straight, 24 ft long, 10 ft girth. Wish to sell.

      Thank you for the inquiry, but at this time I have plenty of large Poplar logs still awaiting to be sawn for inventory. Check back in the future with other large logs. Where are you located? Thanks, Chris

    A cedar tree was taken down in our neighborhood and the contractor gave it to me. I would like to have some of it planked for projects. Do you plank woods for personal use and if so, are you able to pick up from Ellicott City?

      Yes, I do custom milling for logs that are over 30″ diameter, and they are delivered to my mill. If it is smaller than 30″ you should contact someone with a Woodmizer mill. Hope this helps.
